Obsidian RLM Templater template, version 2 (2026-10-19)

Requires Obsidian and the Templater community plugin.
Copy obsidian-rlm-templater.md to your Templater folder. Bind it to an Insert command (not Create) under Template Hotkeys, then assign Ctrl+Shift+R or another free shortcut in Settings > Hotkeys.
Select the intended contiguous lines and run the template. With no selection it processes the current line. Multiple disjoint selections are not supported. A selection ending at column zero of the next line excludes that line.

RLM is U+200F RIGHT-TO-LEFT MARK. It is saved in your note. English-only lines may intentionally get the same direction cue inside Persian text. ASCII-digit-leading lines and inline code may also change.

Version 2 protects fenced code inside quotes/lists, space/tab-indented code, frontmatter, display math, raw HTML blocks and link-reference definitions. Invalid fence closing markers do not end code protection. Protection is conservative, not a full Markdown parser: some deeply indented prose may be skipped. Undo reverts text changes. Try on a copy first.

The template passed 57 synthetic scenarios with an Editor API mock and a Templater empty-output check. This is not a claim of testing every Obsidian version or theme.
The .md file is the runnable Templater template, including its delimiters. It is not CSS or a separate Obsidian plugin.
